I´m working with The Orthodox Way (Ortodoksinen tie in Finnish) by bishop Kallistos Ware.
A kind of "little red book" of orthodoxy. Full of heavy stuff. Pearls for a thirsty soul... |

Krysostomos,
I started reading that book awhile ago - but haven't finished reading it yet...
You inspire me to contiune...!
When I went looking for it now I also found a few other Orthodox books, two with collected works by Florovsky among others. If there were just more time to read all interesting books...!
I find Orthodox literature to always be refreshing - like cold water in a hot summer day - although it's at the same time dry like desert sand... A paradox...
It's very different from Catholic theology. More practical than theoretical.
And not to recommend to those who wishes to keep God at a distance...

Just finished "Marx´s Das Kapital - A Biography." by Francis Wheen; Marxin Pääoma in Finnish.
Wheen writes: "As long as the capitalistic system is ruiling the world, Das Kapital deserves to be read and unsterstood."
Well, it´s good to remember, that we are still living in the capitalistic economical system. Globalisation sure is not any post capitalistic idea... |
