Jag läser i National Catholic Reporter att Tony Spence – sedan 2004 chefredaktör för katolska nyhetsbyrån Catholic News Service oväntat har avgått från sin tjänst på begäran av USA biskopskonferens pga av att USA biskopskonferens tappat förtroende för Tony Spence och detta utifrån att USA biskopskonferens anser att Tony Spence ”promotat HBTQ rörelsens dagordning”
”In recent days Spence had been attacked by conservative Catholic blogs for tweets he had posted about controversial religious freedom bills in North Carolina and Georgia. These sites accused Spence of ”promoting the LGBT agenda.”
”The secretary general [of the U.S. bishops’ conference] asked for my resignation, because the conference had lost confidence in my ability to lead CNS,” Spence told NCR.”

Jag ser mycket allvarligt på den uppkomna situationen som illustrerar en tilltagande polarisering inom katolska kyrkan i takt med att Franciskus pläderat för större öppenhet och betoning på samvetets överhöghet…..som ställs på sin spets i den uppkomna situationen ……
Franciskus vilja tycks vara större KRISTEN ENHET men i praktiken har detta istället bara medfört nya kristna alliansbildningar. Tidigare gick skiljelinjer MELLAN olika kristna kyrkor och samfund. Idag tycks INOMKYRKLIG splittring ha skapat nya TVÄRKYRKLIGA ALLIANSER …….
Först POLSKA Biskopskonferensen ……nu USA BISKOPSKONFERENS ……När biskopskonferenser får bestämma måste också leda vidare till frågan om hur biskopsutnämningar inom katolska kyrkan går till. Som det fungerar just nu så är det en påves allsmäktiga privilegium att utnämna biskopar……..En påve kan med andra ord styra katolska kyrkan långt efter sin död eller sin avgång ……
